...would have been a better name if Apple was launching a line of women's hygiene products...

...looks like Apple's version of a digital picture frame...

...had better be less awkward to use than Steve Jobs looks holding the thing...

...is as disappointing and unappealing as the iPhone was revolutionary and boner inducing.

Sure, the iPod does some pretty "cool" things, but I'm always losing mine, or forgetting which pocket it's in. And with those tiny screens, I can't even see the buttons, let alone tap the right one. This iPad is exactly what I need. Once I set it up on my desk, and plug in the keyboard accessory, it will be just like using my PC!

I guess I'm just as old and decrepit as Andy Rooney, because the iPad was basically technological Viagra for me.

The iPad is awesome. You can play with mine the next time I visit.

(look, the 3g version is scheduled to ship right after my birthday and around the time I'll get my tax refund. Let's just be realistic about this one)

...sounds like someone trying to say iPod in a bad Peter Griffin voice.

I'll check back in on it next generation, the lack of multitasking (nobody would ever want to say, IM while doing something else!) is a dealbreaker for me. One thing I'm not clear on: as someone with an iPhone plan would they really expect me to buy two seperate 'unlimited' data plans?

The name? Stupid.

The additional data plan that you have to purchase if you already have an iPhone? Awful.

Can't run multiple programs? Fail.

The $500 model doesn't even get you 3G connectivity? Boo.

You know when this will be awesome? In two years when they've fixed these problems. Maybe.

I'm thinking I'll grab one, but I haven't decided on the version. I see all sorts of potential for it to be cool to have on the ship. Question would be whether I would spring for the 3G version or not. I don't know the gained connectivity would be worth the higher cell phone bill.
