I would like to take a break from reciting democratic talking points and aggravating the French by bringing you this reminder: 

I live in Texas now.

Okay, so you already knew/didn't care.  I also already knew that.  Here's the thing: for the most part, Texas feels exactly like everywhere else I've ever lived.  It's a little warmer, and I need to go to a sports bar to watch the Giants, but other then that, there just isn't anything particularly... Texas-y about living in Houston.  At least there wasn't until yesterday, when this cow happened.

DSC03223.JPG I'm on a job site for work, taking some exterior photographs of a building.  I am standing near the property line.  I am not in a field, or on a farm.  I am at an industrial site, within Houston proper.  I turn around, and I am confronted with this cow staring at me.

The cow is also on an industrial site.  You can see the road and some large steel piping stacked up in the background.  There are large trucks milling about, moving equipment this way and that.  The cow is also not in a field, or on a farm.  I do not know if the cow was their for work or leisure.  The cow did, however, bring friends.
